BIOGRAPHY: As a graduate of the Culinary Arts program at Salt Lake Community College in Utah. Chef Christopher A. Lindsay received training in Classical French techniques although his real passion is Fusion Cooking. Christopher has also received his Bachelor of Culinary Management degree from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas in 2006. During this time he was recognized by the National Restaurant Association as a “Salute to Excellence Student Honor Delegate”, representing UNLV and the State of Nevada at the “Michael E. Hurst Salute to Excellence Awards” held in Chicago. He later continued his pursuit in education and In the spring of 2016 Chef Christopher received his Master’s Degree in Post-secondary Career and Technical Education with an emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction from UNLV's College of Education.
Christopher has received certifications from the International Sommelier Guild, National Restaurant Association and the American Culinary Federation. He holds culinary medals from the Vocational Industrial Club of America (State Gold, Regional Bronze), and the American Culinary Federation (Silver-Hot Food; Bronze-Center Pieces/ Ice Carvings).
As an apprentice at the age of 20, Christopher worked for the Plum Restaurant in Salt Lake City, Utah. After formal training and pursuing his degree, at the young age of 25 he took his first job as the Chef de Cuisine of the Atrium Restaurant in the Cliff Lodge at Snowbird Ski Resort in Utah. There he assisted in hosting corporate guest, John Hancock, during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Utah. Some of the various establishments Chris has worked for are Embassy Suites Hotel, Ocean Point Inn, Maine. The Ritz Carlton BACARA in Santa Barbara, California, Hard Rock Hotel-Simons Kitchen, Team Building Gourmet, Creative Cooking School of Las Vegas and Sous Chef for the MGM Grand - Sky Lofts located in Las Vegas.
Christopher developed television culinary production skills assisting Chef Todd English on the TBS special, “Dinner and A Movie: Super Chef Cook Off”, filmed in Las Vegas. He was also a Culinary Production Assistant for Power House Productions of New Jersey during the filming of the second television season of “Turn up the Heat with G. Garvin”.
Chef Christopher has also worked with Clark County District educators to build and establish a career and technical academy, his focus was to establish (2008) a new culinary program located in Las Vegas called East Career and Technical Academy.
Chef Christopher was highlighted in the May 2008 issue of “Gourmet Magazine.” The Company was also voted one of the top five Recreational Cooking Schools in the Country In the May 2008 issue of “Better Homes and Gardens” magazine. Christopher, Corporate Chef and Instructor for Team Building Gourmet, a company that enhances team building skills of corporate executives through the bonding and fun of cooking. Participating corporations have included Nike, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Coke, PepsiCo, Anheuser Bush, Canadian Olympic Team, Wynn, Entertainment Group, Harrah's Entertainment and MGM Mirage.
He is also active in the National Restaurant Association’s Pro-Start Program dedicated to the education of high school students from across the nation. Through the years of 2008-11 as Mentor and Chef Instructor to the students of East Career and Technical Academy over 17 different students his repeatedly place in the top three in the state and on 2 occasions he has taken three different teams to the National Restaurant Association, National ProStart Competition where his best team placed 3th in the Country.
Chef Christopher has also worked as the Corporate Chef for Team Building Gourmet and as a private chef consultant for DB Food Truck here in Las Vegas. Chef Christopher has returned to UNLV and currently teaches various Food & Beverage courses including the senior level culminating experience known as Bistro410, as a Chef Instructor and Lecturer at the William F. Harrah College of Hospitality at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
